Feedback Oriented Programming (Beta)
The Feedback Oriented Programming Beta Package will start by exposing you to the simplest of programming problems in a real Linux® command-line environment. You will be provided with instant feedback about whether what you did was wrong or right. This material is designed for people who don't have time to read tutorials or watch videos, and want to get started programming right now.
Instead of providing you with answers to memorize, you are provided with questions to ask that are appropriate for whatever problem you're working on. You can just click directly on the search term to search for it. This way, you only need to read whatever is necessary to solve the problem.
The Feedback Oriented Programming Beta Package features:
- A personalized feed that tracks your progress and tells you what to search for.
- Premium access to the Robert Elder Software Linux operating system.
- The right to request custom course content.
- Priority access to future content.
- Terrible customer support.
A personalized feed tracks your progress, and updates automatically in responce to your actions when working through the course material. You are provided with search terms and brief explanations to help you understand what you're doing, and how to debug problems. This feed is public and displays generic information about pre-selected aspects of the course.
Here is an example feed.
How Does it Work?
Microsoft Windows users will be happy to learn that the Robert Elder Software Linux Operating System can be downloaded and set up to run in a few minutes without affecting your existing Windows operating system. This is done by first installing a widely-used technology called a 'virtual machine'. Virtual machines work almost everywhere, and can be installed easily in minutes.
Please note that it won't be possible to honour all requests for custom course content. Priority will be given to earlier customers when considering what new course content to create. Although your custom content request may not be honoured, suggestions will always be welcome.
Terrible Customer Support
Due to budgetary constraints, customer support will be of poor quality and consist of extremely long response times (don't let that scare you away though, you can still get support at firstname.lastname@example.org).
Your use of the Robert Elder Software Linux operating system is subject to the software license terms found here.
You'll find the install instructions here.
